Selection of convective rolls in a thin evaporating-fluid layer in an air flow

The process of selection of longitudinal convective rolls in a thin layer of evaporating fluid immersed in an air turbulent boundary layer flow is studied numerically. The dependence of the two-dimensional flow patterns on the Rayleigh number and boundary conditions is analyzed. Calculations with account for the thermocapillary effect are carried out. The numerical results are compared with experimental data.
