Abstract:Shock waves generated by laser ablation for Ti target in nitrogen ambient were detected and their spatial and temporal properties were examined using beam deflection technique.The propagation velocity and Peak pressure of the shock waves are determined.It is shown that a shock wave emerges delaied a shorter time than that of laser pulse to irradiate the target.The conversion efficiency of the energy of the incident laser pulse into the shock wave and the formation time of the shock wave are discussed.
