Graphical analysis of K/Na/Rb-interferences in AES

Summary A graphical method for studying interferences of different types in binary systems is proposed. It is based on orthogonal decomposition of a data matrix resulting from signals for different concentration levels of both the element to be determined and the interfering element. The obtained (principal components like) plot of rows of this data matrix exhibits some characteristic features allowing easy interpretation in real examples. As an application the FAES determination of K, Na, Rb is studied.
