Abstract: | A class of explicit Taylor-type methods for numerically solving first-order ordinary differential equations is presented. The basic idea is that of generating a piecewise polynomial approximating function, with a given order of differentiability, by repeated Taylor expansion. Sharp error bounds for the approximation and its derivatives are given along with a stability analysis.This work was supported by the United States Atomic Energy Commission. |
