| Abstract: | A star sensor is an electro-optical instrument used to provide the absolute 3-axis attitude with respect to the celestial sphere of a craft utilizing star observations. Star trackers are the most accurate means of absolute attitude determination with accuracies down to arc seconds. The basic composition and operation procedure of the star sensor are introduced in this paper. Some problems in star observations by using star sensors are studied as well. They are well verified by the experiments. |
