Abstract: | Thirty-two breast milk samples provided voluntarily by healthy women living in the Dongting Lake area were investigated by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS). Eleven minor and trace elements (Na, Mg, K, Ca, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, As, Se and Pb) were quantified and compared with literature reports. The results provide useful data for further studies in the nutritional field. Author for correspondence.
