Ergodic stream-lines in steady convection

Stream-lines of steady Rayleigh-Bénard convection with square planform are displayed using Poincaré maps. As the second order mode becomes more important the flow becomes ergodic from the boundaries inward, like a perturbed, integrable hamiltonian system.
