Abstract: | We present a simple, non-invasive optical technique that exploits collision-induced cross-fluorescence to monitor the amount of hydrogen in a sealed cell containing alkali metal, and reports its use in measuring the reaction rate of cesium with deuterium, both in the presence and absence of photo-excitation at 4555 Å. |
