| Abstract: | A mathematical model is established for a single-stator permanentmagnet synchronous motor when voltage-fed. Non-dimensional parametersgoverning the behaviour of the rotor are identified and conditionson them determined under which the motor goes into synchronousrunning both when loaded and when unloaded. The maximum torquewhich the motor can develop and when this can occur are investigated. |
