| Abstract: | Dienone—phenol rearrangement in (CD3CO)2O/BF3 of 1-acetoxy cyclohexadienones derived from benzene yields mainly monoacetoxy monotrideuteroacetoxy derivatives of benzene. The implications of these results on the reaction mechanism are discussed. |
