Abstract: | In this paper, we study a perfectly matched layer model for the three-dimensional time-dependent Maxwell’s equations. We develop both semi- and fully-discrete finite element methods for solving the truncated PML problem by Nedelec edge elements. Optimal convergence rates are proved for both semi- and fully-discrete schemes. To our knowledge, this is the first error analysis obtained for time domain finite element method for PML models. |
