On the peroxidation reactions of monomolybdates

Summary The differences in kinetic behaviour of the reactions between Mo^VI and H₂O₂ in media at different pH are explained by the involvement of different Mo^VI species. In acidic medium a 6-coordinate Mo^VI undergoes an H⁺-independent substitution, while in neutral or alkaline solutions a proton-assisted addition takes place between the 4-coordinate Mo^VI and H₂O₂.
