Die Verteilungsenthalpie als Maß für die Donatorstärke eines Extraktionsmittels

The enthalpy which appears during the extraction of a metal ion with an organic solvent can be determined by calorimetric measurements. This measurements were based on the distribution of bismuth, mercury, zinc and cadmium from a solution containing lithium iodide and the extraction of iron, zinc, and uranium from a solution containing potassium thiocyanate. Uranyl nitrate was also investigated. The organic phase consisted of various esters of phosphoric and phosphonic acid and tri-n-octylphosphine oxide in i-octane. The calculated enthalpies are in accordance with the extraction behaviour of the metal ions observed by analytical methods.
