| Abstract: | Using the sum rules for the surface response function pertinent to a semi-infinite electron gas, we demonstrate in a straight-forward manner that the surface-plasmon dispersion depends linearly on the relative position of the centroid of the induced static surface charge density with respect to the positive background edge. |
