| Abstract: | An asymmetric cyclization of alkynols triggered addition of azlactones catalyzed by a combined catalyst system consisting of a chiral gold phosphate and a phosphoric acid produces conformationally restricted amino acid precursors bearing vicinal quaternary stereogenic centers in high levels of stereoselectivity. |
