Abstract: | The virial coefficients up toB5 of 34 fused hard sphere models have been computed using about (4–10)×105 trial configurations of a modified Monte Carlo integration method. The principle of the conformal behaviour of hard particle systems is tested against these data. It is found that while for the fourth coefficient the principle is satisfied in all the cases, the fifth coefficients exhibit more complicated behaviour and do not conform, in general, to this principle. |
