Abstract: | Decyl sulfate ions form strong associates with ethylenediammonium cations and copper(II) ethylenediamine complexes. A solid compound of the composition copper(II):ethylenediamine:decyl sulfate ion = 1:2:2 was isolated from the aqueous solution; its crystal structure was studied to find that it comprises a regular combination of formula units of an inner-sphere complex bis(ethylenediamine)bis(decyl sulfato)copper(II) and a complex associate of two decyl sulfate ions with diaquabis(ethyenediamine)copper(II). |
