Abstract: | The kinetics of the carbothermic reduction of zinc sulfide in the presence of calcium oxide and lithium carbonate has been studied by a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). An empirical rate expression of zinc yield has been determined from the experimental data obtained. The dependencies of the rate of zinc yield on the operating variables was found to be less pronounced for the Li2CO3 catalyzed system than those for uncatalyzed system. |
