Abstract:
State-of-the-art microfluidic analytical systems are briefly surveyed. Attention is focused on the use of microchip capillary electrophoresis. The main results obtained in the development of a prototype analytical system with a laser-induced fluorescence detector for electrophoresis on a glass microfluidic chip are presented. Experimental data on electroosmotic flow and the distribution of sample fluorescence intensity over the cross section of a microchannel are analyzed. A procedure for the rapid analysis of oligonucleotides on a microfluidic chip is described.
