| Abstract: | Reaction between acyleyanides (ArCOCN) and aldehydes (ArCHO) in the presence of ether and hydrogen chloride (or hydrogen bromide) gives good yields of 2,5-diaryl-4-chloro (or bromo)oxazoles ( 2 ). |
