| Abstract: | Conclusion The present review examines only some of the problems of the mechanism of the growth reaction in the catalytic polymerization of alkenes, which have been the subject of quantum-chemical studies by a number of workers. The number of theoretical papers in this field is small. Nevertheless, the results obtained make it possible to understand various important characteristic features of not only the polymerization reaction but also other interesting reactions involving the participation of organometallic compounds.Institute of Catalysis, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Siberian Branch.
