| Abstract: | The formal total synthesis of the important toxin fumonisin B1 is achieved from simple raw materials in a convergent manner. The key functionalities are derived from MacMillan α-hydroxylation, sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation and ring-closing metathesis. |
