| Abstract: | A new and efficient synthesis of 5,6-diaminophthalide and a novel thiadiazolophthalide has been accomplished. Both molecules are useful starting compounds for the construction of more complex heterocyclic systems and for the preparation of bioisosteres of methylenedioxyphenyl derivatives. |
