| Abstract: | The 2-phenylazo-1-alkenes1a-e are not isolable as pure compounds. They dimerize in a regioselective (4+2)-cycloaddition to orange yellow 3.6-dialkyl-1-phenyl-6-phenylazo-1.4.5.6-tetrahydropyridazines2a-e. The structure of these cyclodimers2a-e as well as of a cross product (2f) has been proved by spectroscopic methods (ir and Raman, uv,1H-nmr, ms). |
