Abstract: | The 1-hydroxy-2-(5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-yl)-1-phenylethyl cation generated under long life conditions undergoes fragmentation to afford 5H-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptenyl-and methylphenylhydroxycarbinyl canons but does not undergo carbocationic cyclization.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
