| Abstract: | The method is based on the reaction of pyrimethamine with chloroacetaldehyde and measurement of the fluorescence of the resulting pyrimidoimidazole derivative. The limits of detection for pyrimethamine in ethanol, plasman and saliva were 2.7, 8.4 and 6.6 ng ml?1, respectively. Chloroquine and quinine do not interfere. |
