| Abstract: | When codeine free base is incorporated into a potassium bromide pellet, its infrared spectrum can show anomalous phenomena between approximately 1100 cm?1 and 750 cm?1. Investigation of the problem indicated that the anomalies are related to rapid formation of the codeine free base monohydrate during sample preparation. |
