Abstract: | Transducer is the necessary and most important part in the maxonics. New applications demand for new transducer, and the renovation of the transducer will open a new field for the application of the maxonics. The important method to develop new transducer is to find and develop new material. The rare earth giant magnetostrictive material Terfenol-D is a new functional material with good performance. In this paper, the rare earth ultrasonic transducer was analyzed theoretically and devised in four-port method and FEM software ANSYS. A rare earth ultrasonic transducer and the transducer with the half wave horn are developed, whose performance has shown unique advantage compared with the piezoelectric transducer. |
