| Abstract: | The kinetics and mechanism of the pentacyanocobaltate(II)-catalyzed hydrogenation of methacrylic acid has been investigated by a non-linear programming technique. Three kinetic models have been examined. The best results were obtained with the equation based on a mechanism involving free radicals and organocobalt intermediates.
