SRN1 reaction of haloarenes with benzenethiolate,benzeneselenolate, and benzenetellurolate ions promoted by SmI2

S_RN1 reaction is of haloarenes with benzenethiolate, benzeneselenate, and benzenetellurolate ions can be carried out by use of samarium diiodide (SmI₂) as a promoter in DMF‐THF to afford the corresponding ArZPh compounds in moderate to good yields. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
