Abstract: | The exact three-dimensional elastic solution is found for an orthotropic composite rectangular prism (plate) bent by a transverse force applied to its end. The three-dimensional distribution of stresses and displacements is obtained. The distribution of tangential stresses in the prism and plate is analyzed numerically. New qualitative features of the distribution are established. The strength of the plate is estimated, and the transverse force and torque are determined.
