Spin-dependent quantum transport through an Aharonov--Bohm structure spin splitter

Abstract:Using the tight-binding model approximation, this paper investigatestheoretically spin-dependent quantum transport through anAharonov--Bohm (AB) interferometer. An external magnetic field isapplied to produce the spin-polarization and spin current. The ABinterferometer, acting as a spin splitter, separates the oppositespin polarization current. By adjusting the energy and the directionof the magnetic field, large spin-polarized current can be obtained.
