Abstract: | Zubarev's nonequilibrium statistical operator method is used to construct a theory of the nonresonant acoustic absorption of the linear Ising magnet, the basic Hamiltonian of which is of the two-particle kind and is treated without approximations. The frequency dependence of the absorption is determined and found to differ analytically from the well-known Debye curve
