Nonlinearly-coupled Langmuir and Ion-Acoustic Waves

In a plasma acted on by an intense laser field, one encounters the problem of nonlinearly-coupled Langmuir and ion-acoustic waves. We use a generalized perturbation theory to discuss the nature of coupled oscillatory waves in this system, and the possibility of formation of an ionsheath.
