| Abstract: | [structure: see text] General methods for the synthesis of novel bifunctional hemithioindigo (HT) compounds, e.g., omega-amino acid derivatives, are presented. The photochromic properties of the photoswitches have been characterized by UV-vis and (1)H NMR spectroscopy. |
