Abstract: | For a purpose of antineoplastic screening, a series of sulfhydryl-binding agents, N-substituted maleimides was prepared. These compounds were obtained by dehydration of the corresponding maleamic acids under suitable conditions in which the formation of maleisoimide by-products was prevented, IR and UV spectra, as well as the elemental analyses confirmed the structural assignment of our products, A brief discussion on the preparation of N-(2,4-dinitrophenylamino)maleimide was also given. |
