Photoacoustic study of nanocrystalline silicon produced by mechanical grinding

Abstract:Mechanical grinding (MG) was used to produce nanocrystalline silicon and its thermal and transport properties were investigated by photoacoustic absorption spectroscopy (PAS). The experimental results suggest that in as-milled nanocrystalline silicon for 10 h the heat transfer through the crystalline and interfacial components is similar, and after annealed at 470 °C the heat transfer is controlled by crystalline component.
