Abstract: | The Nobel Prize for physics 2015 was awarded to Takaaki Kajita and Arthur McDonald for the discovery of neutrino oscillations, showing that neutrinos have a mass. This article describes the two areas of research namely the atmospheric neutrino anomaly and the problem of missing solar neutrinos which lead to these groundbreaking discoveries. |
