| Abstract: | The lifetime of the 23p state of He has been determined experimentally to be 125±7 nsec. The measurement was made using delayed coincidence with an invertron as the excitation chamber. A simple tunnel-diode preamplifier was designed to extend the usefulness of single photon counting photomultipliers into the infra-red. |
