| Abstract: | The birefringent effect of K9 glass has been studied under low pressure. The index of birefringence and its gradient have been measured. The consequences show that we should fully consider the influence of the self-weight resulted birefringent effect on the optical performance of lens made of K9 glass. The conclusion has practical significance to the design of astronomical lens. |
