Abstract: | In this paper we show adaptive time discretizations of a fractional integro–differential equation ∂αtu = Δu + f, where A is a linear operator in a complex Banach space X and ∂αt stands for the fractional time derivative, for 1 < α < 2. Some numerical illustrations are provided showing practical applications where the computational cost is one of drawbacks, e.g., some problems related to images processing.
