| Abstract: | The title spirocyclic compounds (SP-12, 1-5), of which 3-5 are new compounds, were prepared by reaction of dodecyl Fischer base and substituted salicylaldehydes in anhydrous ethanol. Spectra, photochromic and electrochromic properties of them were investigated. It is found that their properties are similar to those of hexadecyl analogs and there are some potential applications in information storage and display devices. |
