Propagation of Nonlinear Ion-Acoustic Waves in a Hot Collision-Dominated Plasma

It is shown that the propagation of nonlinear ion-acoustic waves in a collisional plasma is governed by the modified Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers or the Burgers equation. The stationary shock like solution of the KdV-Burgers and Burgers equations is discussed for the medium in which the electron thermal conductivity is very large.
