Abstract: | The electron resonance spectra of 3P2 oxygen atoms have been studied over a wide range of pressure and microwave power. The shapes of the spectra, in particular those showing various multiple quantum transitions, are well matched by those calculated using a theory involving a single relaxation parameter. Identification of this parameter with the time between collisions yields cross sections in excellent agreement with those determined by other workers. |
