On the validity of the quasi-particle approximation in nuclear physics |

| Abstract: | The validity of the quasi-particle approximation for the two-point function in nuclear physics is tested by means of one-particle strengths taken from (d, p) reactions. It is found that in general the quasi-particle approximation is not justified. |
