Synthesis of silica gel-bound acridino-18-crown-6 ether and preliminary studies on its metal ion selectivity

Abstract:Starting from commercially available and relatively cheap chemicals a novel silica gel-bound acridino-18-crown-6 ether was prepared. Selectivity of the latter stationary phase toward different metal ions was studied. The stationary phase showed appreciable selectivity for Ag+, Cu2+, and Hg2+ ions.
