| Abstract: | The application of a device for the post-column vapour-phase pyrolysis of compounds after gas chromatographic separation is described. The system proposed permits a mixture to be separated, pyrolysis to be carried out and pyrograms to be obtained in the chromatograph with one flame ionization detector. The reproducibility of the retention time and the intensity of the pyrogram peaks were studied. Some examples of applications to the identification of unknown components in a single gas chromatographic analysis are given. |
