Purine nucleoside analogs. 6. Chlorination of acycloguanosine and some of its derivatives with thionyl chloride

The reaction of 9- and 7-(2-hydroyethoxymethyl)guanines and some of their derivatives with thionyl chloride inhexamethylphosphorustriamide was investigated. 9- and 7-(2-Chloroethoxymethyl)- and 8-chloro-, 8-bromo-, and 8-mercapto-9-(2-chloroethoxymethyl)guanines were synthesized.
