Effect of lightwave intensity fluctuations on the dynamics of nonresonance optical bistability near exciton resonance

Abstract:The effect of lightwave intensity fluctuations on absorption bistability in the region of exciton resonances is studied. Below a critical magnitude of the incident laser radiation, bistability of the exciton states is induced by external noise, whereas above this magnitude the effect of external noise shifts the region of bistability to somewhat higher intensities of the incident light. It is shown that the probability of a spontaneous shift of states is exponentially small. Chernovtsy State University, Chernovtsy.
