Abstract:Nearly degenerate four-wave mixing can yield a real-time narrow optical bandpass filter. For a proper nonlinear gain, the reflective wave can be amplified. This filter has the advantages of large field of view, ultra-narrow spectral bandwidth and tunable central wavelength. Photorefractive polymer, a new PR material, provides a large priority for making this kind of filter.
